Oleta Adams and Paul
Brown at Vista Lounge
The program-book of
Warren Hill's Smooth Jazz Cruise 2005 presented the excellent Spanish
guitarist Marc Antoine. Unfortunatly he couldn't join the tour because of a
neck injury. It was a problem for Warren to find another guitarist
with these great chops. Norman Brown and Peter White were already
booked, Chieli Minucci had a schedule-conflict. Warren was lucky to find
Paul Brown. Although a highly
in-demand producer for artists like Dave Koz, Peter White, Euge Groove
or Rick Braun, he had less experience in live performing. Originally
scheduled for Friday he had already to play on Wednesday because Rick
Braun was still suffering under his sea-sickness and couldn't play.

Paul needed some time
to warm up and to get rid from his stage-fright but after the first
applause of the audience all fear was history. Paul presented songs from
his debut-album "Up Front" well supported by the
Harris-brothers. "Wes’ Coast Swing", "Angel",
"My Funny Valentine" were great moments. Then the horn-section was added by Warren Hill himself
who had this day renewed his wedding vow with his wife Tamara who he had
married ten years ago.

Euge Groove joined
the show with great acclamation by the audience. You know these Euuuuge!!!

Another "Tower
Of Power": Don and Bill Harris, Euge Groove and Warren Hill
directed by Paul Brown.
Paul continued with
songs from his upcoming album like "Las Vegas" and
another still untitled tune. Paul Brown will perfom at the Berks Jazz
Festival and his schedule for the next months is tight. I am confident
that he will soon gain attributes like charismatic or sensational.
