Pianist, singer and percussionist Alyse Korn and saxophonist, flautist and percussionist Robert Kyle have been making music together for many years.

They share a love for Brazilian, Afro-Cuban and American jazz & pop, as well as classical music. You can hear all those influences in their music. They both compose and have now released their debut CD.

Alyse is known for her creative and melodic improvisations, sensitive accompaniments and deep rhythmic grooves. She started professional work at the age of fourteen, working with various artists. She received a BA in Studio Music & Jazz Piano Performance from the University of Miami Frost School of Music in 1990, and an MFA in Jazz Piano Performance from the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) Herb Alpert School of Music in 1992. Alyse joined has been up with jazz, Brazilian and salsa bands in Miami and LA, and is now doing so in Ojai, California.

Robert is known for his unique warm sound, melodic style and his sense of transcending musical boundaries. He has worked with well-known names in the music business, such as Natalie Cole, Michael McDonald, Johnny Mathis, Michael Bolton, Linda Ronstadt, Carole King and Lou Rawls, and has released over 12 CDs.

Together with Kevin Winard on drums & percussion, Hussain Jiffry and Ahmet Turkmenoglu on bass and Leonice Shinneman on tabla, they now present their debut. It contains 9 tracks, six from Kyle and 3 from Korn. The music sounds subtle and soft, but just a bit too classic for my taste.
