The Italian Giorgio Ferrera is a classically trained pianist, who has played both solo and in various chamber orchestras. In addition to his classical studies, he was part of various music projects, ranging from contemporary music through pop to even baroque music.

But he also recorded several times as a jazz pianist. Giorgio has performed on stages at various jazz festivals and jazz clubs, both at home and abroad.

For this new CD he formed a trio, of which Alessandro Del Signore on double bass and Pierluigi Tomassetti on drums join next to him.

The theme behind this CD is an ordinary day, with daylight slowly returning after the dark night. Until that everyday given shape is shaped by unexpected news or an unexpected phone call. But it is also an ode to hope and courage. Hope and courage for what that new day will bring.

Giorgio wrote these songs over a long period of time in which melodies and arrangements followed one another, sometimes leaving him room for adjustments. Giorgio composed all tracks himself, except 'Black hole sun' which comes from Chris Cornell.

Quiet jazz with a lot of room for improvisations.
