Vince Mai's "MBAND" Released 2006, features 10 songs composed and produced by Vince Mai. A dynamic soloist and well known member of various Canadian jazz and funk groups, Vince is also a top call studio musician in the Pacific Northwest. His latest release explores contemporary smooth-groove jazz from a world perspective, inspired by his travels and performances throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas. With Vince Mai on trumpet, flugelhorn & programming, his featured guests are award winning players and highly sought studio artists including: Brad Turner on keyboards, Daryl Jahnke on guitar, Randall Stoll on drums, Pepe Danza on percussion, Russ Klyne on guitar, Raphael Geronimo on percussion, and Marc Rogers on both acoustic and electric bass.

As a studio musician, Vince's trumpet has been featured on numerous albums, commercials, feature films and TV series including DaVinci's Inquest, The Chris Isaak Show, McGyver, Lonesome Dove, and Scene of the Crime. As a jazz artist, Vince has had the privilege of sharing stages and studios with top artists in Canada, the United States, and Europe including Chuck Israels, Bobby Shew, Natalie Cole, Don Thompson, Eddie Daniels, Ernan Lopez Nussa, Danilo Perez, Robben Ford, and Daniel Binelli (Astor Piazzolla).

Vince Mai's CD "SUBTE" was inspired by a kaleidoscope of musical influences, drawing inspiration from the ruins of Mexico, the subways of Buenos Aires, the infectious rhythms and voices of Latin America, the trance of the European club scenes. Though diverse the influences, the compositions are always filtered through his musical formation in jazz. The Cd consists of all original songs with performances by Daniel Binelli on bandoneon, Pepe Danza on percussion, Raphael Geronimo on percussion, Tania Hancheroff on vocals, Miles Hill on accoustic bass, Daryl Jahnke on guitar, Marc Rogers on electric bass, Rebecca Shoichet on vocals, Randall Stoll on drums, and Brad Turner on fender rhodes.

Vince Mai's first solo release, a Jazz CD titled "For All We Know" was a dedication to the idiom of jazz that represents his primary influences. "For All We Know" is "cool" revisited - a collection of sparkling jazz classics performed by some of Canada's finest jazz musicians - Miles Black on piano, Miles Hill on bass, Dave Robbins on drums and Tania Hancheroff on vocals.

Also a composer, Vince's film scores have been featured on TV networks - PBS, Fox Network, WTN and the CBC in North America. In "Diary of An Alien", Vince's " probing electronic score" received the West Coast Music Award for Best Original Score for Film or Television in 2001. His original piece "Why Didn't You Tell Me" from the album "For All We Know". has been featured in films by directors Carl Bessai and Anne Wheeler. Vince's film score for the movie "Lola" by director Carl Bessai was featured at The Sundance Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, and Berlin International Film Festival. His latest collaboration with director Bessai is a feature titled "EMILE" starring Sir Ian McKellan, which was nominated Best Musical Score in a Feature Length Drama by the LEO AWARDS 2004.
