Robustelli creates an intelligent amalgamation
of hearty musical genres which include soul, R&B, rock, funk and hip
hop -- all deftly perched atop a strong foundation of jazz. While musical
influences such as Steely Dan and Earth, Wind and Fire are subtly apparent
throughout, the instrumentation, arrangement and complexity of this record
go far beyond a punchy horn section and funky bass line.
Anthony Robustelli is an accomplished musician
with more than 23 years experience, which is quite impressive when you
consider that he hasn't yet had his 30th birthday. Anthony, who plays
piano and keyboards attended New York University where he completed both
his undergraduate and graduate studies receiving his Bachelor's Degree in
Jazz Performance and his Master's in Music Education.
Anthony is currently touring with Def Jam/Def Soul recording artist Kelly
Price and Capital recording artist Pru promoting her hit single,
"Candles." Additionally, he has worked with a number of notable
recording artists including Bo Diddley and The Jungle Brothers for whom he
also served as Musical Director. He has also opened for such groups as The
Meters and The Charlie Hunter Trio.
In addition to performing and collaborating with other musicians, Anthony
continues to pursue his personal endeavors, which include writing,
arranging and producing a six-movement suite, entitled Travels of a Lost
Soul , co-writing the score for the critically-acclaimed independent film,
Hitman's Handbook, and gigging with his band. He is also co-owner of
Tomato & Lime Recording Studios in Brooklyn, New York where he
produces and writes for artists from musical genres ranging from Hip Hop
and R&B to Jazz and Gospel to Rock and Alternative.
