George Neal

A native of Washington, D.C., George became an accomplished trumpet player by the age of 16. His versatility extended into R&B, FUNK, JAZZ and CLASSICAL realms.  In College, he played in the Duke University Jazz Ensemble, the highlight being a couple of concerts performed with DIZZY GILLESPIE.  After several years away from performing, George began to record in his home studio.

All of the CD's listed below feature songs written exclusively by him. Except as noted, he is playing all instruments. He enlists the support of several guests vocalists. This is consistent with his versatility and wide ranging musical styles. His first three projects contain a mixture of R&B, Jazz and Dance and have been compared to Babyface, Earth Wind and Fire and Quincy Jones.

His latest project, "JAZZMATAZZ," is exclusively Contemporary/Smooth Jazz and rivals what is heard on any Smooth Jazz Radio Station. The title cut "Jazzmatazz" is Lee Ritenour-like but special attention should be paid to "Make Mine a Perfect 77 Degrees" (the New Millenium's version of Paul Hardcastle's Rain Forest - and danceable enough to be played at a club.) "Moanin' Glory" and "Gave it All/Said it All" are perhaps the first real instrumental love songs where the listener knows exactly what's going on; even without words.
