Marek
As the Co-producer of Marek's music it gives me great pleasure to
talk a little bit about him. Marek was born in Poland in a small town
called Rypin. He left Rypin for Germany when he was 27. His goal was to
come to the United States. He remembers his grandfather speaking about
Americans and how they had a big heart and were loving and he wanted to
experience the free spirit of America for himself. His grandfather loved
America and fought in WWI for the U.S. and truely inspired Marek.
So his stay in Germany was about 3 years and
then he came to the U.S. , through it all no matter how life was
treating him he always had a guitar with him and many times it was his
guitar that got him through a hard time. He started playing the guitar
at age 15. A photo of Jimmy Hendrix inspired him to play. His favorite
style is to just play improvising as he goes and I feel this is truely
his best music as you can hear from his debut album Majestic Mountain ,
most of the tunes are original one time take recordings done in the
moment. Thats right one take on Mareks recorder in the moment with no
rehearsals and transfered as is with the same feeling and emotions he
had at that time. Songs like Destination , On Top Of The Mountain , Life
, and Mellow Breeze , all recorded in the moment. So his message to all
of you is " What we have is only today, cherrish this moment in
your life" .
I can see as I watch Marek play how he puts his whole soul into his
music. He inspires me and uplifts me. As soon as I heard his music I
knew that he had something very special. Marek says " We are up we
are down , the most important thing is to learn where we want to go in
this life. To understand that what we are all searching for in this life
is happiness".
Watching Marek I have come to learn he is a true artist.
When he plays it's from the heart. Marek's hope is to contribute to your
life somehow with his music. And lastly he says " Don't worry, good
things will come " . And believe me good things have come to
Mr. M a r e k J e l e n !
