John Lytch

The release of John Lytch's eagerly anticipated freshman album, Mission 2 Please, is a reminder of how much he has accomplished over the last 14 years. Containing the brand new title track Mission 2 Please, this is an album that will send twenty seven year old Lytch straight to the top.

John Lytch is a small town musician with international talent and appeal, known for his smooth yet soulful vibe. He's headlined and performed with some of America's premiere talents. Currently, Lytch performs approximately 30 to 45 dates per year without a manager, booking agent or marketing firm. Yet, without question this project shows his true side, which is Ministry. According to Lytch, his ultimate goal in life is to please God, thus he no longer deems himself to be a performer but prefers to minister. John Lytch has always been a church musician – in fact, that is where he believes his ministry began.

"I was asked by my Pastor to bring my saxophone to our church shut-in. A shut-in is a service where church folk go to prostrate themselves before God. We would go in on Friday night and would stay until early Sunday morning, we were not allowed to eat or drink anything, we would pray, sing and study God's word. I endured each time and I was only 14 years old. I believe, this is where I got my true start, and believe me it was not all-good. I stunk!" John went on to serve as youth choir director and church musician, a ministry that he continues to this day. "I currently serve as church staff musician for two of upstate South Carolina's premiere congregations and pastors."

Notwithstanding, Lytch's freshman project Mission 2 Please took three years to complete. He selected a few of his best friends to join him in completing his God given vision to play like David and worship God. Bryant Thompson, whom Lytch refers to as a diamond in the rough produced the project. Not only is Thompson Lytch's producer but he's his best friend.

Lytch says that Thompson has definitely been the driving force behind the project, one that believed in him before he even had a desire to take his gift seriously. Bryant Thompson plays every instrument on the project except guitar, bass, drums and sax. Bryant and Celeste Thompson are the proud owners of SFC Records, an independent label for which Lytch is apart. SFC stands for "Superiority for Christ."

Tim Mole and his wife Ladonna also participated in John's vision. Both Tim and Ladonna appear courtesy of John P. Kee's New Life Community Choir. Tim Mole is an extraordinary talent with roots in a small town, like Lytch and Thompson. Tim played guitar in Lytch's first jazz band and now serves as John P. Kee's musical director. Tim is one of the most versatile guitarists in the industry; he expresses himself on both acoustic and lead guitar on the project.

If you're wondering whose the lady with the smooth, silky voice which perfectly accents and compliments Lytch's plush sax lines, well, it's Ladonna Mole who will soon release her debut album. Ladonna is a featured vocalist for John Kee's New Life Community Choir. Marcus Williams is a veteran drummer and engineer. He graced us with his presence both on the trap set and in the engineering booth. Marcus is the son of former R&B Diva, now gospel songstress Ms. Candi Staten. He has played for just about everybody. Williams currently serves as a full time drummer for Isaac Hayes. Last and certainly not least is bass guitarist Stanley Sullivan. Sullivan is also an original member of Lytch's first band. He lays down the low key yet funky bass lines on several of the tracks.

Born in Clio, South Carolina, John Lytch now resides in Spartanburg, SC with his wife Jonah. He attends Mt. Sinai Baptist Church (pastor Terry McCaskill Sr.) Other church affiliations include Macedonia Baptist Church (pastor O.R. Clevland) and The House of Deliverance for all Nations (Pastor Magaline Purvis.) He enjoys car crafting in his spare time and works as a Human Resources Specialist for America's Most Admired Company.
