Joe Kurasz
Keyboard composer/artist Joe Kurasz (pronounced cure' az) has been a professional musician since his early teens. His private study with composer/arranger Joe Zeoli and professor Bruce Dane, gave Joe the necessary tools to combine mathematical logic with creative themes, thereby developing fresh musical material, as needed. HIGHLIGHTS Composed original song "Intergeneration" performed by New Jersey Intergenerational Orchestra at Lincoln Center and on NBC's "4 Stories" Television Show Composes music for Guiding Light Daytime soap opera. Composed and Scored original soundtracks for upcoming film The Followers written and produced by Jonathan Flicker and Dennis Gossett Jr. Composed, arranged, mixed and mastered all tracks for the CD "Elements Of Style" currently being played on over 130 stations nationwide. Joe's original song "Just A Simple Song" was voted #1 Jazz Song in Billboard Magazine's Songwriting Competition. The judges included: Chairman Quincy Jones, David Benoit, Andrea Crouch, David Foster and other great professionals. Joe has also received credit for his contribution to Disney's 4 CD Box set "The Music Behind The Magic" featuring composer Alan Menken and lyricists Tim Rice and the late Howard Ashman. Joe was also invited to perform original music from his showcase CD "Simply On The Move" at The Maui Music Festival in Hawaii on Labor Day weekend, 1995, which featured artists such as: Russ Freeman & The Rippingtons, Spyro Gyra, Phil Perry, Acoustic Alchemy, David Benoit, Tom Scott, Eric Marienthal and more. Borders Books & Music - CD signing and performance (September '95 Hawaii) Composed and arranged Stage and Dance Theater productions including: Historical, Multi-cultural and children's programs; composed original theme song "Intergeneration" for the New Jersey Intergenerational Orchestra. Joe has appeared on the same bill as Jackie Mason and Cab Calloway at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. He has also been a representative for the United States observing the Yamaha International Organ Festival in Nemonusato, Japan . In Addition, he has performed at the Garden State Arts Center in New Jersey and has recently been invited back to be one of the guest MC's at the 20th Anniversary of the Garden State Arts Center Talent Expo. -Produced over 50 Commercials in the NJ / NYC Area
