Mike Catalano

 

American composer/pianist Mike Catalano has posted the music from
his debut album, A Rio Affair, on mp3.com. It features an all-star lineup
of top jazz players from New York and Rio de Janeiro, including Steve Gadd, Mark Egan, Ricardo Silveira, Toninho Horta, Randy Brecker, Lou Marini, and the greatest bass player in Brazil Nico Assumpcao, who died this past January. Also Mike has posted selected cuts from his work as a composer for TV and Film.


Mike Catalano plays with musicians Ricardo Silveira, Mark Egan, Steve Gadd, Dean Bailin , Randy Brecker, Lou (Blue Lou) Marini, Alan Rubin, Nico Assumpcao, Toninho Horta,Carlos Bala, Cornell Dupree, Mestre Marcal, Armando Marcal, Cafe, Andre Tandetta, Maucha Adnet, Lizzie Bravo. 

Composer Pianist Mike Catalano lives and works in NY.The Rio Affair cuts are from Mike's 1st Album, in addition Mike has written hundreds of pieces of music for Fox Television in the USA, the most well known show was "A Current Affair" with Maury Povich.

Mike is shopping his new album "Smooth as Silk" which he produced with bassist Will Lee in NYC. Musicians are again some of the finest: Bob James, Ivan Lins, Chuck Loeb, Rob Mounsey (Flying Monkey Orchestra), George Whitty, Steve Gadd, Peter Erskine, Jeff Mironov, Bashiri Johnson, and a final appearance by Nico Assumpcao.
