Larry Antonino

Native of Santa Cruz, CA., Larry Antonino is one of the most innovative bass guitarists on the contemporary jazz scene today.  His distinctively fresh, new sound has been described as exciting and just plain old funky.

Now based in the musical breeding grounds of Southern California, Larry’s contribution to the Los Angeles music scene includes live performances and recordings with jazz veterans such as  Ronnie Laws, The Jazz Crusaders, Jeff Beck, Bobby Caldwell, and Al Jarreau.  The new breed of contemporary jazz artists has recognized Larry’s talents also.  For example, Freddy Ravel, Steve Oliver, Rob Mullins, and Jeff Kashiwa enlist his services for recordings and live performances.

Larry is an accomplished composer as well, with an array of writing styles.  Besides writing and co-writing all of the songs on, “Village Strut”, he has composed for groups such as Air Supply to smooth jazz artists Ronnie Laws and Jeff Tyzik.
