John Amato

John Amato has been blowing his SAX since he was 7 years old. As a boy growing up in Detroit, Michigan, he was greatly influenced musically by rhythm and blues, big bands, and jazz. John has had the opportunity to record on various Motown records. However, his obsession with success also led him to a life of drug addiction, which began at age 13. Cocaine and alcohol became his constant companions for the next 18 years. Driven by a desire to "make it big," John continued to perform in concerts with B.B. King, Eddie Kendricks, Jerry Butler, Curtis Mayfield, Johnny Taylor, and many others through the years.

In 1977, after spending 7 years on the Las Vegas/Tahoe-Reno show circuit and overseas on USO tours, John Amato came to the Crossroads in his life. As he lay in a hospital bed with some of his internal organs eaten away as a result of the drug use, he cried out to GOD for help. Years of drugs and alcohol had nearly cost his family and his life. There in that hospital room, JESUS came to visit him and completely healed and delivered him and restored his marriage and family.

John currently resides in Ft.Worth, TX with his wife Fran.

As a minstral for the Almighty God, John's vision continues to be illuminated with his desire to bring light to a darkened world with glorious sounds of spiritual enlightenment and truth. What is revealed to every soul within the sound of this exaltation is the Savior, whom John serves, Jesus Christ, the Anointed One.
