Zuper
Artist
description Zuper
is a singer-songwriter who likes to sing and play laid back music. The artist
was born 44 years ago near a little place called "Long village" in
Belgium. You may probably discover the influences of his childhood in his early
songs, as he grew up in an environment of pure nature. The strength of his laid
back songs goes back to his hometown as you can mention in one of his songs:
"Long before man destroyed the water and sand, we enjoyed nature of
"Long Village" lake land. Now we live in dirty cities, dreaming about
a happy end." Zuper tends to be the Dutch JJ Cale in his attempt to create
non pretentious music, mentioning the power of the inner strenght. Music

reviews: How
does Zuper do it? perhaps his many years in a band in the 70's to today give
zuper the experience to pull off such virtually flawless, well produced works.
If you like easy-listening music, or have to buy a relative a gift its a very
original an classy solution. Only drawback is you may keep it for yourself, and
how often will you get to Belgium to hear him play live? A fine example of what
self dedication to your own craft can produce, and from the sounds of it zuper
is enyoying himself. RAW42, serch eazy
listening, mood enhancing music with jazz flavoured rain on your face. not
having tremendous amounts of experience with this style of music, i have usually
related this music stereotypically without giving it a hard listen. fortunately
zuper makes it easy. smooth running volumes of melodies in the air float with a
folky country essence. before i get carried away, here are the songs i reviewed.
a
sweet flowing instrumental blues track, jeruzalem focuses on a clean guitar and a
piano motif. perhaps i've heard zuper's piano melody before however i can't
quite place it, and for this style of music i think repetition is the norm. the
only thing i picked up were some slight off tones on the piano, however i cannot
discern if these were deliberate or perhaps a limitation of my ears. you will
find this style of music playing in the background of a yuppie new-age book
store or cafe. even perhaps your parents car stereo, such as the easy listening
radio stations i grew up listening to (via parental force) or in the
pediatricians office. the orchestration is tight and the presentation is
professional, i would not be surprised to find this work in the stock of a major
vendor or piped from a label in the near future. sweet
africa starts with a percussive tom/drum ramble that rolls so smoothly into the
guitar work i'd swear i was surfacing from a deep desert oasis. the saxophone
work fits perfectly, a great selection of instruments that take turns carrying
the ebb of rhythm. this is exactly how to keep this genre of music from
monotonous muzak. the distinct difference between muzak and zupers' style is
thin yet visible, remaining reputable without a tremendous amount of cheese
elements of instruments. relaxing in a folk music/ambient mindset that eases you
from your days concerns into a soft leather couch of sound. after
listening to zuper's song spring i wonder what could get this man down. an
upbeat song that seems to sing its own lyrics, and is relentless in its'
comatose energy levels of relaxation. the voices that dance around spring's
melodies are a great touch and certainly make this my favourite zuper track.
spring also has a small hop into a playful 20's style piano and drops smoothly
back into the groove. this again is a song written around the guitar and piano
having a the same style yet distinct differences from his other works. how
does zuper do it? perhaps his many, many years as a musician from his years in a
band in the 70's to today give zuper the experience to pull off such virtually
flawless, well produced works. if you like easy-listening music, or have to buy

may keep it for yourself, and how often will you get to belgium to hear him play

fine example of what self dedication to your own craft can produce, and from the
sounds of it zuper is enjoying himself. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- also
