
Bradley Sowash
Bradley Sowash writes and plays melodic and upbeat contemporary jazz as well as new versions of songs people recognize. An accomplished composer, critically-acclaimed recording artist, public speaker, and jazz piano entertainer known for his instant audience rapport, his melodic and upbeat solo piano concerts and improvisation workshops have delighted audiences throughout Europe and the United States for over 15 years. Activities An active arts educator and advocate, Sowash averages 70 school appearances annually through several arts education consortiums including the Ohio Arts Council and Muse Machine among others. In addition to his performances at venues such as art centers, concert halls, and festivals, Sowash frequently offers benefit concert events for good causes such as environmental, social justice, and church outreach programs. His compositions and performances with dance companies and videographers have included Meredith Monk, Senta Driver, Susan Hadley, Ballet Met and others. He has received numerous technical assistance, professional development and project grants from the Ohio Arts Council as well as the New York State Council on the Arts, the Hazelbaker Foundation, the Jerome Foundation, and the New York Foundation for the Arts. In 1999, he was the featured artist at the Arts Midwest 15 state regional conference in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a featured artist in John Schaefer's book, New Sounds: A Listener's Guide to New Music and in Katherine Teck's Movement to Music. Sowash regularly serves as a music, arts education and dance panelist for art organizations such as Arts Midwest for the Jazz Masters Awards and the Ohio Arts Council. |
