Postmodern Blues

Postmodern Blues is the musical collaboration of Bradford Booth and Scott Hedges. Our music represents a mix of old school jazz ideas, and modern jazz / R&B sounds. We have been writing, arranging, and performing together for over 13 years, and have developed a very original style in that time period. Our music combines elements from smooth jazz, fusion, bebop, R&B/Funk, and Acid Jazz. Our influences include Larry Carlton, Yellowjackets, Bob James, Earl Klugh, Dave Grusin, Four Play, John Scofield, David Sanborn and Joe Sample.

Originally from Detroit, Scott Hedges has spent many years playingand recording music in Detroit, Washington DC, and New York. He is chiefly a guitarist and bassist, but can hold his own on keyboards, drums and vocals as well. Brad Booth has been arranging and playing keyboards and guitar for bands in the Baltimore/ DC area for over 15 years, and has worked with groups with styles ranging from rock and R&B to Swing-era jazz. The pair met in 1988 and decided to combine their distinct musical tastes and styles to form the project "Postmodern Blues".Since then, they have cultivated an extraordinary musical relationship, and have produced a large, creative body of work.
