Jojo and Blueshoes
Along the years the band’s sound has been coloured with Funk, Fusion and Jazz, though still maintaining unaltered its solid Rock-Blues roots, and the repertoire is continuously being enriched by originals. These characteristics have been particularly appreciated in our tours abroad and especially in the 1993 California Tour. The members are: JOJOWay back in 1969 i got on a stage with my electric guitar for the very first time. In those days i used to play Pop Music; soon after i began to deeply love the Blues. A pioneering love for the Italy of that age. In the early 70’s i founded the "Collettivo Musica", a non-profit organization for the spreading of Black-American Music, which for years organized concerts in Italy and Finger-Picking Style courses in Padova, my native town. In 1976, after having for long played Rock, Country-Blues and Ragtime even in some Dutch clubs, i established my first Blues Band, the Blueshoes. Many musicians have together with me shared exciting nights in smoky pubs, in summer squares or in theatres, some of which lately have joined important national bands.Along the years the band’s sound has been coloured with Funk, Fusion and Jazz, though still maintaining unaltered its solid Rock-Blues roots, and the repertoire is continuously being enriched by originals. These characteristics have been particularly appreciated in our tours abroad and especially in the 1993 California Tour. At present the proposed shows are three: the first with an acoustic formation, duo, trio or quartet; a second, more involving with a typical electric sound; a third , more intimate with strong Modern Jazz and World Music accents. My personal effort in these last few years has been to find new ways for the old twelve bars through the use of jazz harmonies and patterns as well as innovative rythms, from the old Beguin to modern Acid, without losing contact with the real matrix of it all: the Blues. ALBERTO LAZZARIN Grows as a guitarist in the progressive-rock band "Audio", with whom he records some CDs published in '93 for Mellow Record. As bass player he joins local rock-blues bands, the Silver Rogues in the '80's and Claudio Bertolin Blues Band in several gigs. Since 1998 has been playing the electric bass in the Blueshoes. GIANCARLO SCHIAVON ..in the middle of the 70's he begins his musical career in the "Collettivo Musica" first as a guitar player, but switching soon after to the Blues harmonica, broadening his knowledge to Jazz through the chromatic harmonica and the trumpet. From 1986 to 1999 he plays and dances with Micha Van Hoecke's group"Ensemble" (Dance Curriculum). In 1997 he rejoins the Blueshoes after 18 years. CLAUDIO CARESIA After several experiences joins the progressive rock band "Audio" in 1980, Claudio Bertolin Blues Band in 1983, then numerous bands of Italian Pop Music and Country Music. Interested in Jazz, forms the Jazz Express in 1994. In 1998 he joins the Blueshoes.
