Chris Hicks

Meet Chris Hicks. Chris's initial interest in music started at the early age of five when he received a guitar as a gift. Later, he joined his school's band choosing to play his trademark instrument, the saxophone.

From this beginning , Chris joined one of the local bands, allowing him to take his music out of the classroom and into the real world. Bianca's, a popular Oklahoma City jazz club, hired Chris as the house saxophonist, where he had the privilege to play beside such jazz greats as Chet Baker, Jon McNeil and Jay Diversa.

Chris then created the band Formula Four, whose first gig was winning the Stroh's talent search in 1985. After playing pop music for four years, Chris felt the need to return to his musical roots. He recorded his first jazz album, a self-titled project which gained extensive play on the three local jazz stations.

Next he formed the Chris Hick's Band which won Best Jazz Band four years in a row. Chris himself won Oklahoma City Musician and Best Horn Player four years consecutively. Next he recorded his second album, "You Make Me Feel".

Following its release Chris moved to Nashville, Tennessee and was hired by the Country crossover group, Restless Heart, for vocals, sax and guitar. After Restless Heart's summer tour with Country legend Reba McEntire, an opportunity presented itself to Chris. Reba's saxophonist left the band and she asked Chris to replace him. Chris agreed and joined her band. Now a five year veteran with Reba, Chris can be heard on her Grammy nominated album, " Starting Over ".
