Born in Oakland, CA, Duane Frybarger started violin at the age of eight and piano a year later. He spent much of his youth working as both a soloist and accompanist for church, school and private functions.

At the age of 26, he began composing, primarily in a jazz/pop vein. Several years of writing led him back to the Classical era for studies and compositions. Over a period of five years, he wrote a wide variety of Symphonic Suites, Piano Etudes and various chamber pieces.

In 1990, he began the acquisition of his MIDI studio, which marked the commencement of the most fruitful period of his creative life. During the next four years, he wrote more than 200 pieces in many different styles and instrumental configurations.

In 1995, he contributed some previously written works as well as a specifically composed piece for a PBS TV segment on Alternative AIDS treatments. In 1996, he set up a website to help distribute his music. His music was featured in Keyboard Magazine's Discoveries column in September of 1996 and he has written technical articles for a small publication in Oregon, the Transoniq Hacker.

He is currently working on his third album. In addition, he continues to promote his music on the Internet as well as to both Commercial and Public radio stations.

Duane has built a MIDI studio that allows him complete creative control over every aspect of his projects. On both CDs, he is responsible for all compositions, arrangements and performances. In addition, he created the album cover designs and ran radio promotional campaigns.

All music was sequenced using Cakewalk Pro 5.0 software on a Pentium 200 (AMD K6) computer. MIDI instruments at his disposal include an ESQ-1 keyboard, a Roland U-110 sound module, an Alesis D-4 drum module, a Korg M3R synthesizer module and a Mirage sampler. His studio also includes an ART reverb and a DBX compressor/limiter along with an Alesis RA100 amp and KRK-RokIt monitors.
