Phil Traynor

I live in St. Petersburg, Florida with my lovely wife Bonnie (a.k.a Bonstr or Doodlebug). We live in a wonderful new house that we just moved into! (Pictures pending on that...)

You know, there's a rumor about St. Pete, that old people live here. It's just not true. Old people live in Sarasota. Their *parents* live in St. Pete!

Anyway, I'm 5'8" tall, and weigh substantially less than 4000 pounds. Actually, there's a lot less of me lately, I've lost 26 pounds so far on the Atkins plan. I have about another 20-25 to go before I'm happy. I have brown eyes, and a little bit of brown hair. I'm going bald, but hey, eagles are bald, so I'm in good company. Besides, God gave all men the same amount of hormones, and if you want to use yours growing hair, that's your business.

I was born on October 30th, 1964 making me 35 years old, and a Scorpio (I'm a double Scorpio, actually, my rising sign is also Scorpio). I went to Liverpool High School in Liverpool NY, graduating in 1982. I have an A.A.S degree in Radio/Television from Onondaga Community College in Syracuse NY.

I work at Tech Data Corporation in Clearwater Florida, the world's #2 wholesale distributor of computer hardware & software. I'm a System Engineer supporting the Compaq line of Servers and Professional Workstations. Tech Data is a completely awesome company to work for, and is growing very rapidly. We'll do over $13 billion in sales this year, after acquiring Computer 2000 in Germany. So, if you're looking for a great employment opportunity in the computer field in the Tampa Bay area, this is the place to look first!

In my copious spare time, I'm a musician and composer. I have a fairly extensive catalog of material, and much of it is available for you to hear on 2 great MP3 sites on the web:

www.riffage.com

and

www.mp3.com.

Here's a list of my equipment:

Guitars:
I have a Yamaha 12 string acoustic-electric, A Martin DXME 6 string acoustic/elertric, a CC Clark electric, a Lotus Stratocaster copy (black) and a Peavey Foundation bass.

Keyboards:
My keyboard collection includes a Roland RD-500 digital piano, a Roland Juno-106 analog synthesizer and a Fender Rhodes Suitcase 73 piano.

Drums:
My drum kit is a black CB-700 Internationale 8pc kit, with 14" hi-hats, 2 14" crashes, a 10" splash, a 20" ride, and an 18" China Boy cymbal. I also have a BOSS DR-660 Dr. Rhythm drum computer.

Recording/Amplification/Processing equipment:
My recording gear includes a Roland VS-880EX digital hard disk recorder, a Yamaha MT-120 4 track recorder, an Alesis Nanoverb 18 bit sound processor, a Peavey Combo 300 amplifier, Crate GFX/65 guitar amp, and a Zoom multi-effects guitar processor.

The PA/mixing gear includes a Mackie 8 channel board, a 16 channel Samick board, with a Peavey 550w amp and digital reverb and delay in a rackmount and Peavey cabinets.

I've been in several bands, including playing bass for Sgt. Friday in Syracuse NY, drums for Pacific Coast Highway here in St. Petersburg FL, and I've also played bass with Rocky Ruckman & The Beat Heathens and TC Carr & the Catch here in St. Pete.

Well, it's really a 2-part history. I've been composing since the mid 80s, and all of the solo work here was recorded in my home on VERY basic 4-track, with virutally no signal processing gear. . The pieces performed by Sgt. Friday were recorded in another home 4 track studio, considerably better than my own, and with a more experienced engineer at the helm. This is all some pretty low-tech production, but these are really demos.I'm not trying to be a performing star, I like the production/composition end. Seeking publishing companies and those interested in the material, not necessarily my performances thereof... :)
Group members:
Me! I'm doing pretty much everything you hear, with the exception of some monumental solo work on guitars from Glenn Mancini, Nick McAleer, and the inestimable Bill Galanin. The few songs in my catalog that were recorded by Sgt. Friday list that band's complement in the song stories.
