1980's:

Studies the art of sax under the direction of Adam Lerman and the great jazz legend, Stan Getz. Mr. Getz was heard to say that Robert Sabado "had the best tone" out of all sax players.

1990's:

This decade brings growth to compositions and performance. From Washington D.C. at the Library of Congress to Manila at the incredible Shangri La Hotel, Robert Sabado has entertained hundreds of people from all walks of life.

1999:

This year brings the debut release of "Face2Face", A brand new recording produced by international jazz guitarist DIRK K.This new CD features original material and one special cover of "Un-Break My Heart". All through out "Face2Face", people can hear the sensitivity and sensuality Robert Sabado can produce with his horn. On October 27, Robert Sabado put on a live show at The Baked Potato in Hollywood. Everyone was entertained by the incredible show man. Robert has a cool connection with the crowd. His sense of humor and musical talent is a combination that must be seen and heard by all.

This year also brings "This Christmas", a brand new Christmas recording produced by DIRK K featuring traditional holiday songs. The initial concept for this project was created by William Gray Grieve III. Robert is so happy to be able to share the love of the holiday season through this recording. And you can hear this happiness year after year on "This Christmas".

There are certain musicians that over time become iconic and serve as touchstones for our times and popular culture. Among these are the inimitable tones of rising star ROBERT SABADO. A master saxophone stylist whose versatility has earned him worldwide notability and the distinction of being the only American-Filipino artist to have performed the saxophone at The Library of Congress. Sabado's remarkable talents are on full display throughout Cool Yule, his latest release.

This latest collection succeeds his highly regarded 1999 label debut, Face 2 Face, which marked his first studio recording. Face 2 Face introduced Sabado as fresh talent earning critical acclaim and living up to "having the best tone around", as said by jazz legend, Stan Getz, at Stanford University. In 2000, Robert Sabado recorded his first Christmas CD entitled This Christmas.

Furthering his practice of recording songs that span many different stylistic genres, Sabado’s new release offers a selection of holiday tunes with urban-flavored grooves, soulful romantic ballads, jazz-inspired improvisations, and Latin-influenced anthems. "I have been around the world and I believe my music can take the listener to exotic lands," explains Sabado. "The listener may want to take a trip down town on track one or go all the way into outer space on It’s a Small World and I think that accounts for the diversity on Cool Yule."
