Price-Bernstein Project

Price-Bernstein Project Steve Bernstein and Terry Price Grant have sold over 40 million records worldwide, worked with a long list of music greats and recorded some of the most successful songs in music history. Both Price and Bernstein are Philly natives - Price attended Bok Vocational High School and Bernstein went to Overbrook High. Yet despite their collective success, they never lost sight of their Philly roots. Prior to teaming with Price, Bernstein made his mark guiding the careers of such artists as Rose Royce, Blue Magic, Jean Carne, Frankie "Double Dutch Bus" Smith and Major "Love Won't Let Me Wait" Harris. With 16 gold and platinum records, the Bernstein name became synonymous with hit-making artists. He also headed up two successful record labels - W.M.O.T. and Omni Records. While Bernstein was criss-crossing the world working with the likes of the Rolling Stones, Earth, Wind and Fire, and The Temptations, Price was getting his feet wet as a writer and producer for the Philadelphia International label where he worked with The Stylistics, Harold Melvin and The Bluetones and Jean Carne - to name a few. The two met in 1980, and Price moved to Bernstein's W.M.O.T. label where he penned hits for Fat Larry's Band, Roz Ryan of the TV hit "Amen" and Brandi Wells. Bernstein launched Omni records in 1985, where Price's first effort on the newly-formed label was a #1 hit with Jean Carne called "Closer Then Close." In 1990, Price wrote and produced nine songs for Teddy Pendergrass' CD "Truly Blessed" on Electra Records, resulting in a #1 hit "It Should Have Been You," as well as a Grammy nomination for the remake of Bread's classic "I Want To Make It With You" on Pendergrass' compilation CD entitled "Rubyicam." In 1998, Bernstein heard several of Price's instrumental tracks and was inspired to create something with sizzle to capture the essence of the city they loved - something with the perfect Philly groove. Price and Bernstein played the tracks for some of the industry's top studio pros, as well as several up-and-coming artists with extraordinary talent - gifted musicians who could help turn this concept into reality. The result was magic. Philly Nights is just the beginning. The next stop is Miami Nights, followed by Manhattan Nights, European Nights and Hollywood Nights. This magic has no borders - music lovers around the world can look forward to endless possibilities.
