Although few are aware of it, millions of Americans have heard the music of CHUCK LOEB.

In addition to being a #1 contemporary jazz recording artist, the guitarist/composer/producer has played on more than 1,000 sessions for albums, films, TV and jingles; he has composed

underscore for soap operas and themes for  such programs as the Montel Williams Show", ABC's "Gulf War Crisis Special Coverage", for ABC "Nightline", CBS News "Up to the Minute", PBS "Puzzle Works" and "P-Pals", theme songs for The New York Yankees, The New York Knicks, The Atlanta Braves, ESPN NCAA College Basketball and special events airing on HBO. Viewers identify CNN's "Headline News" program by Chuck's logo music.

Chuck's l996 Shanachie album "The Music inside" had two huge hit tracks. According to the radio industry's leading music newspaper, R&R ("Radio & Records"), the lead track (the album's title song) was number one nationally on NAC/Jazz Radio for seven weeks. It was followed by a second number one track in early '97, "Cruzin' South."

After leaving Boston's prestigious Berklee School of Music in 1976, Chuck played and toured with jazz greats Chico Hamilton, Hubert Laws and Ray Barretto. This was followed by world-wide touring for over two years with jazz giant, Stan Getz. By the mid 80's, he was writing music for sessions--tunes as well as jingles. And in 1985 he joined Steps Ahead (Michael Brecker, Mike Manieri, Victor Bailey and Peter Erskine) with whom he toured and recorded the albums "Modern Times", "Magnetic" and "Ying Yang." Chuck has also been a member of several other outstanding groups, including Petite Blonde (Bill Evans, Dennis Chambers, Mitch Forman) and he currently records and tours with The Fantasy Band and Metro as well as with his own group.

Chuck has written music for, performed on albums by and produced recordings for Jon Lucien, Nelson Rangell, Larry Coryell, George Garzone, Warren Bernhardt, Sergio Salvatore, Eddie Daniels, Gary Burton, Michael Franks, Earl Klugh, Carly Simon, Bob James, Special EFX, and Michel Camilo among others. Chuck has now recorded eight albums as a leader (the first seven for DMP).

Chuck lives and works in a suburb of New York City with his wife, singer/songwriter Carmen Cuesta, their two daughters, Christina & Elizabeth, and their dog Steffi.
