Katherine Liner Katherine Liner has been told by her parents that she could sing before she could speak. Growing up in Chicago, music was always an integral part of her home. The grand-daughter of a concert pianist and the daughter of a classical singer, it was no surprise that Katherine was playing classical piano at the age of 5. When she was 11 she was singing with Placido Domingo in "Tosca" at The Lyric Opera of Chicago.
It wasn't until her acceptance into the prestigious Chicago Academy of the Arts that she combined her classical music training with her love for Jazz and Soul. After graduation, Katherine moved to Los Angeles to begin her professional music career. She was soon hired to tour The States as well as The Orient as a featured vocalist performing for stadiums of 10,000 people.
Tired of singing cover tunes and yearning for artistic freedom, Katherine decided to stay in Los Angeles and solely work on her writing. Spring of 1997 brought the release of Katherine's provocative 3 song CD entitled "Inside My Soul" which shows off her dynamic range and instrumental approach towards vocal arrangements. Since then, she has been a featured artist interviewed on N.P.R. local talent hour, a featured vocalist on The Lullaby Project (to be released on EMI Special Markets), and the producer of a ten-piece live recording of her own music.
This sultry soulstress can be seen regularly performing at some of L.A.'s most popular venues. Her
unique style, captivating live performances, and passionate recordings have made Katherine Liner one of L.A.'s
hottest new voices in the music scene. Location:
