Mark Johnson


 

 

 

 

 

Mark Johnson (no relation to the bassist Marc Johnson and the pianist Marcus Johnson) is a funk-oriented tenor-saxophonist whose roots are in r&b rather than jazz. He started on clarinet when he was nine and became a professional musician while a teenager, playing in local funk bands. He attended the Berklee College of Music, appeared on Debra Henson-Conant's Budapest CD and toured with Special EFX and George Jinda's World News. He was playing on some of their cds like catwalk. Mark Johnson recorded  for JVC in the 1990's
