Bill Cornish
This solo project was formed in 1999 by San Diego musician Bill Cornish as a venue for pursuing music for its own sake. Discarding the traditional "tunnel-vision" formats of today's commercial music, he was free to draw from an eclectic blend of influences for creative expression. The resulting music is not easy to categorize but ranges between New Age, Orchestral, World Music, Fusion and Acid Jazz.
A native to San Diego, California, Bill grew up listening to jazz, classical and progressive rock. He began studying organ and piano at an early age, and in high school, he also spent four years studying the violin. Performing with several San Diego based bands, he developed a personal style that reflects his diverse influences. In early 1983, he joined Crystal, a progressive rock band with whom he spent the next twelve years touring throughout the western United States, Alaska and Japan. During that time he opened for artists such as Kansas, Steelheart, Joan Jett, Steppenwolf, Firehouse, The Romantics, Pat Travers, Foghat, Andy Taylor, The Bus Boys, and others. Crystal also released three albums, two of which were produced by Kansas alumni John and Dino Elephante. The albums received favorable press as well as radio airplay. Most recently, he can be heard playing piano on Seaholm, Etc.'s release entitled Passion's Little Plaything as well as performing live with the original rock project Life and jazz project Tropic Zone.
