Bruce Chambers
Bruce Chambers has a unique approach to his brand of smooth jazz. Growing up as a piano player and listening to heavy metal and hard rock bands has influenced this very solid sax player. You can hear traces of his hard rock background on songs such as "Serious" and "Back To My Old Ways".
Starting as a piano player at the age of 6 and alto sax at the age of 9 and performing in many recitals as well as 3 different school bands, he has performed all kinds of music. Bruce's musical background also includes him playing bass guitar/keyboards and singing lead vocals in several rock bands. It was not until 1997 that Bruce started listening to Smooth Jazz and was newly influenced by the contemporary sax greats of David Sanborn, Boney James, Nelson Rangell and ten other big sax players.
Bruce's talent not only lies at performing and composing, but also at producing. He has produced over 7 independent artists in genres including jazz, pop, ballads, rock and metal.
Currently, Bruce's music has remained in smooth jazz with the alto and soprano sax and has performed in several jazz clubs in New York City and New Jersey. His discography of three CDs can be viewed at www.brucemusic.com and free MP3s can be downloaded at www.mp3.com/brucechambers3.
He is currently a member of ASCAP and has pending publishing deals.
